The Art
of Global Communication & Inquiry

The International Baccalaureate (IB) demands a unique blend of global-mindedness and granular textual analysis. At Prologue, we view the IB English syllabus not as a series of tests, but as an exploration of how language shapes our world. Our program is meticulously designed to support students through both the Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) requirements.

Mastering the Core Components

We provide targeted coaching for the pivotal "make-or-break" elements of the IB Diploma:

  • Paper 1: Guided Textual Analysis We train students to deconstruct never-before-seen texts (from advertisements and infographics to editorials and poems). We focus heavily on visual literacy and the "whys" and "hows" of authorial choice, ensuring students can identify subtle literary and visual devices with ease.

  • Paper 2: Comparative Essays For Literature students, we provide the framework for high-level comparative study. We help students find the connective tissue between their studied works, focusing on how different contexts and genres influence the representation of Global Issues.

  • The Individual Oral (IO) A daunting component for many, we assist students in narrowing down their Global Issues and selecting the perfect extracts. We work on refining their delivery, ensuring they speak with a sophisticated, mature voice and scholarly 'gravitas.'

  • The HL Essay For our Higher Level students, we provide mentorship for this independent research task, helping them develop a focused, evaluative thesis that demonstrates a deep dive into a specific literary aspect.
